Writing Elsewhere (The Geek Girl Project)

I know I've been quiet here lately! Things at The Geek Girl Project have gotten busy and exciting. We're covering a lot more territory now in comic books and (this has me super-excited)have added science books to our list of "things we cover." What do we cover? Currently, science, some technology (we plan to do more), science fiction, fantasy, horror (Rebecca, Jeremy, and Regina can get scary when they get to swapping favorite monster stories), plus interviews with artists and authors. We've also added new writers, and we're talking social stuff (Get-togethers have been on our to-do list since we got started but they haven't yet. It's getting more likely, though). So, it's been busy--and happy--there, but that means my poor little Lair has been awfully quiet. I don't plan on walking away forever--I like it here, too--but I thought I'd do an "in the meantime" post about some of what I've been doing over on GGP in the last couple of weeks. Sort of a sampler, one which will hopefully whet your appetite so you'll go read more--by me & by everyone else there!

1) I've written a lot of book reviews. Most recently, I reviewed Frankenstein's Cat: Cuddling up to Biotech’s Brave New Beasts, which turned out to be one of those books that I want to hand out on street corners, both because of its subject and because of it's incredibly good writing.

2) I'm doing more comic book reviewing! I'm especially taken with Snapshot and Nimona--which is a webcomic that is awesome (see the interview with Gingerhaze here; the comic is here).

3) And, of course, I'm continuing to review Once Upon a Time. I've had my gripes about Season Two, but I loved The Miller's Daughter

So, I'll be back here, never fear; I enjoy link lists, photography, random non-GGP books too much to say "good-bye," but I thought I'd let you know what I've been up to.

  1. Good to know that the Geek Girl Project is going well! Sorry I wasn't able to come on board, and I think I still haven't replied to your last e-mail... but when I catch a break I might possibly be able to do a guest post, I'll let you know then. :)
