Link to review of Rick Riordan's The Serpent's Shadow

Short version: An entirely satisfactory conclusion to The Kane Chronicles.

Long version here at The Geek Girl Project.

Additional Comments: The end made me smile happily as completely confirms that these *are* happening in the same universe as the Percy Jackson stories & leaves a tantalizing opening for crossovers (without actually requiring it).  I don't know if I really want a crossover or not. It seems like such a book would be awfully crowded, what with all the gods and heroes available. But thinking about such a crossover makes me very happy, and of course if one came up I'd grab it at once!

Link to Book review of Percy Jackson and the Olympians

My joint review of Percy Jackson and the Olympians and The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan is up here on The Geek Girl Project.

Short version: Excellent writing, a great sense of humor, and plenty of drama. These were books I couldn't leave lying around because other people kept picking them up and reading them.

I just finished devouring Rick Riordan's books. My review of The Red Pyramid and The Throne of Fire is up here, on The Geek Girl Project. Short version? Yep. They're worth all the fuss, and then some.

Interview with Arwen Spicer, Author and Director of The Hour Before Morning

I recently got to interview Arwen Spicer who published The Hour Before Morning and is working on an independent film of the book. The interview is up here, on The Geek Girl Project.

Book review of The Art of Steampunk (link)

My book review of The Art of Steampunk is posted here, on The Geek Girl Project.

I'll add here that when I went to return the book, the librarian's eyes lit up & he told me about two recent SteamPunk conventions & when I came back with more books to check out, he'd written down the relevant information for me.

Librarians are awesome!

Bradbury

Ray Bradbury died this morning.. Don't great authors realize they are supposed to live forever? To keep writing?

And... I've been trying to think of something more profound, sad, and meaningful to say, but I can't.

We need all the story tellers and world builders we can get.

We just lost one.

That is all.
